Matti Rotinen and his wife Annamari built a lovely holiday home on the shores of Lake Lentua in Kuhmo. The building site was chosen based on their future home town, as they are moving permanently to Annamari’s birthplace in Kuhmo. This means that their future home and holiday home will be a short distance from each other in the future. <\/span><\/p>\n

Matti designed the 110m\u00b2 log house himself<\/span> and the frame was made by the Lappish log house manufacturer Elhikap. The project started in 2016 and has progressed slowly, as Matti has done most of the construction work himself and has had time for construction mainly in the summer. However, the atmospheric log house is now almost complete, and the house is intended for both own and rental use. <\/p>\n

Although it is a holiday home, it has all the comforts of a detached house. The house includes the following plumbing fixtures: dishwasher and washing machine, shower and water toilet. The area has very strict requirements for wastewater treatment. The<\/span> distance from the Rotinen villa wall to the shore of Lake Lentua is only 35 meters, so it is justified to demand excellent cleaning results from the wastewater system. For these reasons, the property’s toilet water is directed to a closed tank and the gray water to the Vestelli Biopurifier 3 device. Matti naturally decided on the biopurifier due to its good test results.<\/span> <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Biopurifier 3 was already a hit when I presented the device to the municipal authorities in 2016, and it was immediately approved.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Matti also says that the installation of the Biopurifier was easy and quick. The Rotinen villa was built on a large sloped plot, where the soil is mostly loam and there is also rock close to the surface in places. This could have caused difficulties in the excavation work, but thanks to its small space requirement, a suitable place was found on the plot for the Biopurifier 3. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe installation took less than a day. Once the pit was dug, I first made a sand bed for the Biopurifier, after which it was lifted into place. Finally, we filled it with soil and insulated it with Finnfoam, as instructed in Vestell\u2019s instructions.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Matti says<\/span> he has been really satisfied with Vestell’s services from the very beginning.<\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI am very satisfied<\/span><\/i> .<\/span> The service has been pleasant and the staff knowledgeable. I immediately received a lot of information about Vestell’s operations and services, and the installation and maintenance instructions were really good.\u201d<\/span><\/i> <\/p>\n

Matti has worked as a metal designer during his career, so he has experience in construction work, and it was natural for him to build a holiday home himself. However, he recommends turning to professionals if you have no experience in construction. He also urges others interested in new construction to pay special attention to the soil on the plot. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is always a good idea to start planning a construction project with a soil survey to ensure that the construction site is load-bearing.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
