The small space requirement of the bio-purifier was a decisive feature for Sederholms in choosing the device, Tampere

Teemu and Marianne Sederholm are building a leisure facility on the shores of Lake Terälahti in Teiskoo, Tampere. The sauna building was completed less than a year ago and the main building is still being planned. In addition to the large sauna, the sauna building also has a guest house and a loft. It can accommodate a total of eight people. Vestell’s Biopurifier 3 was chosen for the grey water of the sauna building. There will be no black water yet, as the water toilet will only be installed in the main building. There is currently an outdoor dry toilet on the plot.

The Sederholms wanted a leisure destination in Pirkanmaa. They have a permanent home in the center of Tampere and they wanted a cottage where they could spend as much time as possible all year round. The plot is located just a 45-minute drive from their home. “You can even go to the sauna in the evening, because the trip is not too long,” says Teemu with satisfaction. “We thought this plot was the best that was available at that time. The terrain, the directions and the lake of the plot are perfect, so it was a good idea to grab it.”

When looking for a greywater purifier, the Sederholms were interested in the Biopurifier due to its maintenance-free nature and small space requirements. “A lot of rock was blasted away when the sauna building was started. At the same time, a pit suitable for the Biopurifier was made. It sinks nicely into it and blends nicely into the landscape in that place.” The fact that the Biopurifier does not need an absorption field behind it was also a decisive feature for the Sederholms in choosing the device.

The installation went well and the choice of equipment has proven to be the right one. “The excavator lifted the Biopurifier into place and a good foundation had been made for it, so it didn’t take long for it to be in place. We have now had the Biopurifier in use for just under a year. We have been satisfied, or as long as everything works, we don’t really think about it.”

Sederholmit advises anyone planning a construction project to pay attention to the wastewater plan. “It pays to have the plans in place and of course approved when you start the project. Then it will be easier to move forward.”

It is also important to them that Lake Terälahti remains clean. “This building is very close to the water. It is only about 15 meters from the shoreline, so it is nice to know that the water that flows into the lake is as clean as possible. It is also an environmental statement,” Teemu sums up.
