Jari Kauppila wanted a reliable and functional wastewater system for his property, Turku

Jari Kauppila and his wife built a detached house on Satava Island in Turku. Jari and his wife decided to move from the center of Turku to the countryside when they both retired. Jari says that there are very few vacant seaside plots in the Turku region. However, Jari’s wife’s family owned a plot in Satava, so the natural option was to build a new home there.

The magnificent detached house was designed by architect Pauno Narjus. The house is one-story and approximately 160m² in size. It is built of evergreen wood, which means that the color will turn gray over time and thus beautifully landscaped the forested plot. The house was built using modern building technology, the heating system is geothermal, and despite the large windows, energy efficiency is at its peak. The wastewater solution was designed to be simple and absolutely environmentally friendly, which is why Vestell’s Biopurifier 3 was chosen for gray water and a closed tank for toilet water.

The project started about two and a half years ago with planning and permits. The actual construction of the house took about a year and a half. Jari has done a lot himself and, for example, the terrace is still unfinished. However, everything should be ready by autumn, Jari reflects.

They got to know Vestell a little over a year ago at a construction fair. There, Jari learned about different types of greywater purifiers. He needed a system with displays and a working system for the plot. “My choice is based on the information I received from the construction fair, as well as the performance values ​​and purification results. We have a plot of land on the shore and are less than 100 meters from the shore, so we were looking for a technically higher-quality system, which is already required by the plot plan.”

Jari didn’t have much need for Vestell’s customer service because he had received the materials he needed immediately upon purchase. “There was little need for customer service because Vestell has everything so well documented and the installation instructions are so clear that I didn’t even have any questions.”
