Esa Matikainen has three summer cottages in Nokian Siuro. The cottages are located on the shore of Lake Piikkilänjärvi, and the area has a strict waterfront zoning plan. The waterfront zoning plan also sets its own requirements for the wastewater system. Two of the wastewater treatment plants of Vestell’s Biopurifier 3 are responsible for treating the cottages’ greywater.
The cottages located in Leukalui in Siuron were completed in 1962, 1963 and 2017. The treatment of greywater from the cottages is regulated by the area’s waterfront plan, which means that the wastewater systems of all cottages have had to be renewed to comply with the waterfront plan.

Esa came across Vestelli on the internet when she was looking at different treatment plants on the market. An important factor in choosing a treatment plant was that it would not require chemicals or an absorption field. Building an absorption field was not at all possible due to the size of the plot.

Easy-care devices are worry-free
There are now two Bio-Purifiers on the site. The Bio-Purifier cleans the grey water, i.e. all the water from the cottages except for toilet water. The process includes cleaning and oxidizing the water before it is discharged into the stone nest.
– The delivery came two days after the order. The installation went well, and there were no challenges at all. It took about four hours until everything was ready, Esa sums up.
– The devices have worked very well. We have emptied the Biopurifiers about twice a year, and they do not require any other maintenance. There have been no problems. I can warmly recommend both Vestell and their products, he summarizes.
