Kimmo Naakka built a holiday home on a rocky shoreline plot in Raseborg. Wassis was responsible for the wastewater plan for the site. Vestell Biopurifier 4 was chosen for the house’s grey water.

Kimmo Naakka did not know of a wastewater designer he would have turned to. “However, my own architect was able to recommend a few designers in the field, and from these options I ended up with Wassis. The rocky plot posed its own challenges for the design, but with the help of Wassis we found the most functional installation and system options.”

Wastewater planning begins with a site visit with a designer, where we discuss the different options together. The site’s soil and terrain, as well as the property’s equipment level and of course the owner’s wishes are taken into account during the visit, in order to find the best possible wastewater solution for the site. After this, the wastewater plan is implemented. The designer also prepares permit applications to the municipality on behalf of the client and supports you throughout the wastewater project. “Wassis handled the planning professionally and within the agreed schedule – or actually a little faster.”

Creating a wastewater system for both new construction and renovation projects requires a permit: “It is worth considering the time required to process permit applications in the project, which varies from a few weeks to six months depending on the municipality,” reminds designer Stefan Wasström.

The list of materials included in the plan allows you to request a quote for the selected wastewater system and installation. “During the procurement phase, I put the selected wastewater systems out to tender, but Wassis helped us find the most economically sensible solution,” says Naakka. At the same time, he reminds us that implementing a wastewater plan and system is not difficult: “I have been surprised by people who criticize the renovation or renewal of the wastewater system. I think it is in everyone’s interest that wastewater does not flow into waterways, but that nature is doing well.”
