A construction professional with 30 years of experience ended up at Vestell Biopurifier, Merikarvia

Timo Virkki had been looking at summer cottages for sale in the Satakunta area for a long time, until he found a suitable property in Merikarvia about three months ago. “As a result of a long look, we made an offer on this property and that was it.”

The plot has a summer cottage built in 1985 and a sauna building built in 1998. “We are by the sea and a water toilet was once built here, and the previous owners of the place had not updated the sewage system to comply with the current regulation.” However, the cottage’s old sewage system had to be renewed.

Timo has 30 years of experience in renovation construction and has encountered many wastewater solutions in that time. “Compared to many other solutions, Biopurifier 3 is a really good choice.”

The old system was a one-pipe system, but it was changed to a two-pipe system. “We installed a closed tank for the black water and installed a Biopurifier 3 for the gray water. The sauna has carrier water. It will either remain that way or a pump well will be installed for the sauna water, which would lead the water to this same Biopurifier.”

The summer cottage is mostly used by Timo and his wife. “Let’s see if the young people start hanging out there. Maybe they’ll start to get a little interested when Dad says there’s a motorboat coming,” laughs Timo.

At first, he says he was hesitant about the device. “Now I’m really happy because I had to put all the anchoring fabric in the culvert to keep it in place. The Vestell Bio-Purifier, on the other hand, was really easy to install. Its concrete structure was the main reason I ended up with it. It just had to be installed in place and that was it.”

He also says that the ease of maintenance of the device was one of the reasons for choosing it. “Maintenance-free was an important criterion for me when choosing the device. This is maintained by emptying the tank when emptying the closed tank.”

Timo had received good service and comprehensive instructions from Vestell. He says the technical expertise was good.

Timo recommends that others pay attention to the total cost of the system and the ease of installation. “The bio-purifier is so easy. However, the excavator is there on the site and can lift it, so there is no problem with that. Then, at the beginning of the project, it is worth calculating the total cost of the wastewater repair, i.e. also the costs related to installation, such as the excavator’s hourly rate.”
